City, County, School District Announce Election Day Changes
Polling Places at Carl Traeger, Franklin, Jefferson, Shapiro, Washington, Webster Stanley, West Move to Gymnasiums
(October 24, 2008)—With record numbers of voters expected to turn out November 4th, the Oshkosh Area School District, City of Oshkosh and Winnebago County will move polling places at seven schools to the school gyms.
The permanent move will better accommodate large numbers of voters and enhance school safety.

“Through our partnership with the City of Oshkosh and Winnebago County, we are improving access for voters while keeping separating students and voters,” said John Sprangers, Executive Director of Human Resources and leader of the school district’s Emergency Management Team. “We’re working together to benefit both the voting public and our schools.”
In schools without a separate lunch room, sack lunches will be served in classrooms. In some schools, physical education will also be held in classrooms.
