City of Oshkosh - Oshkosh Avenue Construction (October 2018)

posted Sep 28, 2018, 11:24 AM by Katie Nieman

NOTICE: The City of Oshkosh will be completing road construction that will have an impact on traffic flow to the following Oshkosh Area School District school buildings: Roosevelt Elementary School and Oshkosh West High School.

The City of Oshkosh expects to temporarily close a section of Oshkosh Avenue, between North Eagle Street and Fox Street, beginning October 1, 2018. The closure is related to the sanitary sewer construction project taking place in the area between those streets. The Oshkosh Avenue closure is scheduled to begin on October 1 and continue for three to four weeks. During that time frame, routes to school may be impacted. The posted detour route will be Sawyer Street to Witzel Avenue to Koeller Street.

Due to the high volume of traffic that normally occurs during drop-off and dismissal times, please be aware that this construction will be an additional factor to consider when dropping off students, or when traveling near the schools. Please exercise caution and patience when navigating the construction.

For more information on this project, please contact the City of Oshkosh Department of Public Works. NOTE: The City of Oshkosh will be bringing this road closure request to the Oshkosh City Council for approval on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
