During the information sessions, attendees will learn about the OASD’s 4K program - what to expect, how placements work, information about the curriculum and teaching teams, what a typical day in 4K looks like, and more. Additionally, parents/guardians can complete the new student enrollment process during the information session if they have questions, need support, need access to the internet, or have paper copies of items they would like to bring in.

4K Registration Process: Registration for the OASD’s 4K program is a two-step process. Families must first complete New Student Enrollment online. If you do not have access to a computer or need assistance with New Student Enrollment, computers and staff will be available to assist you at In-person Registration. The second step is to attend In-person 4K Registration on either April 15 or May 2 at the District Administration Building anytime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (no appointment necessary). Every family must attend In-person Registration to reserve a seat in 4K. At this time, program staff will collect any outstanding paperwork and discuss 4K placement. (NOTE: Students with an IEP or families planning to enroll in Head Start should refer to the specific individualized directions previously provided.)

The Oshkosh Area School District prides itself on having a tuition-free, community-based collaborative 4K program. Collectively, the District has 15 sites with 35 different 4K sessions for the 2019-2020 school year. These sites include public schools, private preschools, child care centers, and Head Start programs. The OASD's 4K program is a half-day program, with morning and afternoon sessions available. The 4K program follows play-based learning standards to get children ready for kindergarten. In addition, special education services are available for children who qualify, beginning at age three.
