The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) Education Foundation hosted its 6th Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser on February 1, 2019 and raised nearly $11,000 - a new record for the event and the Foundation. All of the proceeds from the event will be used to enhance the educational experience for students and staff in the OASD.

“The funds raised through our Trivia Night Fundraiser go directly to teacher and classroom mini-grants,” stated Julie Dumke, OASD Education Foundation Director. “This funding helps our teachers bring new and exciting learning activities into their classrooms, and it also helps provide our students in need with basic necessities and materials.”

Over 250 attendees participated in this year’s event, coming together to give back and make a difference in the Oshkosh Area School District. This year’s team trivia winners included first-place winner Oaklawn Elementary School, a two-way tie for second place between Oshkosh Downtown Rotary and Oshkosh Citywide PTO, and a three-way tie for the best-dressed award between Carl Traeger Elementary, Oshkosh Southwest Rotary, and South Park Middle. In addition to testing their trivia knowledge, attendees were able to participate in a 50/50 raffle, a jewelry raffle, and a basket raffle thanks to donations from local businesses, the Trivia Night Planning Committee, OASD PTO groups, staff members, and community organizations.

This year’s fundraiser also featured numerous event sponsors including, presenting sponsor Associated Bank, major sponsors Beckets, Castle Pierce, and Horicon Bank, as well as many other contributing sponsors and donors.

“We are so grateful for the generosity and support of our local businesses and community members,” stated Dumke. “It is incredible to see the entire Oshkosh community working together to support our Education Foundation and ensure the success of our students, schools, and District.”

The OASD Education Foundation was established in 2012 and began awarding teacher mini-grants a few years later - the grants are announced at the start of each school year. The Foundation supports all OASD academic programs at all levels of education and these grants allow teachers and staff to develop and implement innovative programs that are not covered by the regular school budget.

The OASD Education Foundation strives to engage the community in supporting Oshkosh public schools and is committed to providing resources for innovation, fine arts, athletics, scholarships, and other resources to enhance students' lives. The OASD Education Foundation is managed by the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation.
