Learning does not end when school lets out, and neither does the need for good nutrition. The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) proudly offers a free food program to children and teens in the community in summer during the District’s Summer School program. No registration or application is needed; children 18 years old and younger can show up at participating locations during the designated times and eat a free meal on site. The meals are similar to the nutritious school breakfasts and lunches offered in Oshkosh public schools during the regular school year. See below for a list of locations and times (CLICK HERE for printable schedule).

“Our Summer Food Service Program provides an opportunity to continue a child's physical and social development while providing nutritious meals,” stated Michele Stahmann, OASD Director of Food Service. “We are committed to meeting the needs of our students year round, and we are grateful to be able to serve the entire Oshkosh community during the summer months.”

The OASD Summer Food Service Program feeds thousands of children throughout the summer. Additional summer meal programs are also available throughout the state, including services provided by local Oshkosh neighborhoods and churches - CLICK HERE for more details. If you need additional help finding a site, call 211 or text ‘food’ to 877-877 or visit the USDA's Summer Meal Locator Tool (www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks) for more information.

The OASD’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable. Free meals will be made available to children 18 years of age and younger. Persons over 18 years of age who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and who also participate in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year may receive free meals as well.
