On January 4, 2019, students in the Fabrication and Welding class at Oshkosh North High School kicked off the semester-long Project GRILL (Growing Readiness in Learning and Leading) program. The students, along with their project sponsors Muza Metal Products and the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, came together to discuss this year's program goals and brainstorm ideas. Project GRILL is an educational partnership between a manufacturer and high school that strives to provide students with technical skills such as design, budgeting, welding, and assembly; as well as employability skills and career exploration. Oshkosh North has participated in the program for three years. Students and their manufacturing sponsor will spend the semester designing and building grills, going on field trips to Muza Metal Product to better understand the manufacturing process, and learning more about careers within manufacturing.
