On January 29, 2019, technical education students at Oshkosh West High School kicked off the semester-long Project GRILL (Growing Readiness in Learning and Leading) program. The students, along with their project sponsors Oshkosh Corporation and the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, came together to discuss this year's program goals and brainstorm ideas.

Project GRILL is an educational partnership between a manufacturer and high school that strives to provide students with technical skills such as design, budgeting, welding, and assembly; as well as employability skills and career exploration. Students and their manufacturing sponsor will spend the semester designing and building grills, going on field trips to Oshkosh Corporation to better understand the manufacturing process, and learning more about careers within manufacturing.
