Ashlyn Casey, a senior at Oshkosh West High School, has been named a semifinalist in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. This prestigious recognition represents less than one percent of high school seniors in the United States. Casey will have the opportunity to continue in the competition, in which more than $31 million in scholarships will be awarded to talented high school seniors nationwide. Great work and good luck, Ashlyn!

In addition to excelling in the classroom, Casey is involved in numerous extracurricular and volunteer activities. She is the editor-in-chief of the Oshkosh West school newspaper, is a member of the Oshkosh West Girls Swimming Team, and is a member of the O’Neil National Honor Society. After graduating this spring, Casey plans to attend Kansas State University, and ultimately pursue a Masters of Architecture.

National Merit Semifinalists are selected based on their excellent performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). To learn more about the National Merit Scholarship Program visit www.nationalmerit.org.
