The fifth annual Oshkosh West Wildcat Invite, a dance team competition, will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Oshkosh West High School beginning at 8 a.m. The Wildcat Invite is a statewide competition that attracts high school dance teams from throughout Wisconsin and surrounding areas. A cornerstone of the competition is the annual "Spread the Warmth" campaign to benefit local students in need of warm clothing items during the winter months. Competitors and spectators are encouraged to bring a winter clothing item to donate. Spectators will receive $1 off the cost of admission with a donation, and the dance team with the most donations will receive a trophy.

This year’s invite will include over 35 high school dance teams, with over 750 student-athletes and coaches participating in the competition. During the event, teams compete in a variety of divisions including pom, jazz, kick, and hip-hop, as well as solo, duet, and small group competitions. The event is open to the public, and all are invited to attend. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and children, and all Oshkosh Area School District employees and students receive free admission with District ID. NOTE: Receive $1 off the cost of admission with donation of winter scarves, hats, and mittens. The invite will begin at 8 a.m. with solo, duets, and small group competitions. Team competitions will take place from 11:15 a.m. until 6 p.m., with an awards ceremony immediately following. Participant registration will remain open until December 14, 2018.
