Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE helps celebrate local employees

Community organizations and businesses are able to request the Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE to be a part of community events and business visits.

The Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE recently served up tasty treats at the VPI, Inc. employee summer party. Students were busy taking orders, making drinks, and providing an exceptional customer experience. The event, which was all about showing VPI employees how valued they are, featured numerous food trucks and gave OASD students the opportunity to shine.

Special thank you to the VPI team and president and CEO, Tim Riebau, for including the Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE and letting students be a part of their efforts to show their own employees how much they are valued. VPI’s story dates back to 1956, when families of individuals with disabilities and local manufacturers knew two things; individuals with disabilities were ready and capable to enter the workforce, and there was an overwhelming need for contract packaging services in the Fox Cities area. VPI was established, as a solution to meet both needs. By providing efficient contract packaging and production services to private industry, with an integrated workforce, VPI has been able to deliver community programming and services to support the changing needs of community members with disabilities or disadvantages. The Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE (Coaching Ability For Employment), is a customized and fully accessible food truck focused on hands-on learning for students of all abilities. It is operated by Oshkosh Area School District students receiving special education services - allowing them to engage with their community in a meaningful way and showcase their employability skills.

The Brewing Futures team is so grateful for the outpouring of support and interest from the Oshkosh community and beyond!
