Celebrating Milestone Careers and Community Champions
District honors 48 retirees, 35 long-serving staff, and dedicated education partners
The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) brought together educators, families, and community leaders to celebrate remarkable careers and unwavering dedication to public education at its 41st Annual Retirement and Recognition Dinner.
The May 21 celebration highlighted the extraordinary contributions of 48 retiring district employees and 35 staff members reaching their 25-year milestone with the OASD. The evening also recognized outstanding community partners whose support has strengthened educational opportunities for thousands of local students. District and school leaders recognized each retiree, sharing touching stories that highlighted their dedication and the impact they had on the Oshkosh community through their careers. OASD Board of Education members congratulated and thanked the honorees as they received their awards. Retirees received a glass apple as a lasting memento, while 25-year employees were gifted commemorative clocks.
"This evening represents everything that makes our district exceptional - the dedicated professionals who have devoted their careers to our students and the community partners who share our vision for educational excellence," said Superintendent Dr. Bryan Davis. "These honorees embody the collaborative spirit that drives continuous improvement in everything we do for our students and families."
A complete list of honorees, including reflections from retirees, is available in the OASD Board of Education 41st Annual Retirement & Recognition Program. Event photos are available in the 2025 OASD Retirement and Recognition Photo Gallery.
Each retiring educator and staff member was personally recognized with heartfelt stories showcasing their unique impact on students, families, and colleagues throughout their careers. The personal tributes revealed the diverse ways these professionals have shaped the district's culture and educational excellence. Meanwhile, the 35 employees reaching their 25-year milestone were celebrated as pillars of consistency and dedication, representing the district's commitment to nurturing long-term career growth within the Oshkosh educational community.
The district also presented its Friend of Education Awards to three recipients whose contributions have significantly enhanced student experiences and outcomes.
Kim Nguyen received the 2025 Individual Friend of Education Award for his exceptional advocacy and hands-on involvement in district initiatives. As a dedicated parent, Nguyen has championed facilities improvements and community engagement efforts that benefit all OASD students. His leadership on Facilities Advisory Committees and instrumental role in referendum outreach demonstrates his belief that strong schools create thriving communities.
Two healthcare organizations earned the 2025 Corporate Friend of Education recognition for their innovative approach to student wellness. Tri-County Dental and Bridging Brighter Smiles have transformed access to dental care for OASD students through comprehensive mobile hygiene programs.
Tri-County Dental's long-standing partnership with the district has provided on-site preventative dental care to elementary students, breaking down traditional barriers to healthcare access. Bridging Brighter Smiles has expanded this vital service to middle and high school students, ensuring oral health support reaches students across all grade levels.
Together, these organizations perfectly illustrate how strong community partnerships can truly change lives, address the needs of the whole child, and provide crucial support for families.
Celebrating Educational Impact
The recognition dinner serves as an annual reminder of the collaborative effort required to provide quality public education. From veteran educators who have shaped countless young minds to community partners who enhance student services, the evening highlighted the interconnected nature of educational success.
The Oshkosh Area School District extends profound appreciation to all 2024-2025 award recipients for their dedication to educational excellence and community partnership.
