Final Chance to Collect Keepsake Bricks from Former Merrill School

Remaining bricks available after initial two distribution days in May

Oshkosh, WI - The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) is offering a final opportunity for families and community members to pick up free keepsake bricks from the former Merrill Elementary and Middle School building.

The final brick giveaway will be held on Tuesday, June 10, from Noon to 2 p.m. at the OASD Maintenance Building, located at 1404 S Main Street. This will be a drive-up style distribution; please turn onto E 14th Avenue and exit via Pioneer Drive.

Unlike previous distributions, there will not be a one-brick limit. However, to allow all interested community members to obtain a brick, individuals seeking a large quantity may be asked to return at the end of the distribution time.

A total of 1,000 bricks were harvested and cleaned from the most historic part of the building for community distribution. In addition to the community keepsake bricks, bricks were carefully salvaged and preserved for the Merrill Memorial Corner that is currently under construction at the former Merrill site.
