Around 40 local businesses joined the OASD CTE teaching staff to make connections that will hopefully lead to innovative collaborations in the education process
The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) and the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce celebrated a successful launch of the Chamber’s innovative Link2Learn networking series. The inaugural breakfast event, held on September 27 at Oshkosh West High School, brought together OASD career and technical education (CTE) teachers and local business leaders, setting the stage for future collaborations that enhance career readiness for students.
The Chamber’s Link2Learn initiative aims to create meaningful partnerships that enhance career readiness for students while addressing the needs of local businesses. The event was filled with engaging conversations, insightful presentations, and exciting opportunities for future collaboration.

Highlights of the Event
- Networking Breakfast: OASD CTE teachers, instructional support teachers, and curriculum coordinators connected with local business partners during a networking breakfast and presentation. Vicki Porior, OASD CTE Curriculum Coordinator, provided a brief presentation on "Cultivating Partnerships through Career-Based Learning Experiences (CBLEs)."
- Student Showcase: Attendees enjoyed a delightful display of culinary talent from OASD students, featuring student-made fresh granola, savory egg bakes, and a selection of sweet treats.
- CTE Classroom Tours: Business partners and educators explored the CTE classroom spaces at Oshkosh West, gaining valuable insights into current learning initiatives and classroom needs.
- CTE Partnering for Progress Flipbook: The event introduced a flipbook designed to connect local businesses with dedicated OASD CTE teachers, outlining the classes they teach and the resources needed for successful partnerships. Vicki Porior expressed her excitement about the event, stating, "It's inspiring to see educators and business leaders coming together with such passion and commitment to our students' futures.
