Brewing Futures Ribbon Cutting June 28

The OASD’s Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE (Coaching Ability For Employment), is a customized and fully accessible food truck operated by OASD students receiving special education services. This unique mobile classroom will not only provide students with special needs real-life working opportunities, but it will allow them to engage with their community in a meaningful way and showcase their employability skills. This exciting project is one way the District is working to connect students with special needs to their community and ensure that all students are equipped for their futures beyond high school. The Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE arrived in the District in early June 2022. District staff have been busy getting the truck ready for business and - as part of the truck’s soft opening - will be training students during community event appearances starting Friday, June 24.

Follow the truck! Search “Brewing Futures” on Facebook and Instagram for the latest appearance schedule. Community organizations and businesses can request the Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE to be a part of community events and business visits. The menu will be flexible based on the event and will consist primarily of beverages, including coffee drinks prepared with equipment on the truck, and prepackaged and prepared food items, including, but not limited to bagels, muffins, and fruit cups.
