Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares students to be college, career, and community ready by providing students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed. CTE programs prepare high school students for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies - or specific skills and abilities required to do a job - and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context.
Our school district offers a variety of CTE programs and pathways for students to explore potential careers, develop career-related skills, and get a head start on career preparation and training while still in high school. The OASD's CTE offerings are organized into the following career pathways:

Connecting with Local Industries
On September 27, the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce partnered with the OASD to host its first-ever Link2Learn networking event, where educators and business leaders came together to discuss collaboration and career readiness. CTE Student Spotlights
Career and technical education, or CTE, emphasizes real-world, real-life skills that directly prepare students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers. The Oshkosh Area School District is focused on ensuring all students are College, Career, Community Ready - that means helping every student graduate from high school globally competitive for work and/or prepared for postsecondary education. Join us as we celebrate students who are excelling in Career and Technical Education Pathways!
CTE programs allow students to explore various career options while still in high school so they can make informed decisions about future education and training needs. Many CTE programs offer industry-recognized credentials, certifications, and college credits that provide students with a head start after graduation.
We encourage all students to explore the many high-quality CTE programs available in the OASD to get started on an exciting career pathway today!
Youth Apprenticeship (YA)
The OASD’s Youth Apprenticeship (YA) program is a one or two year elective program for high school juniors and seniors in their selected career pathway. YA provides students with a hands-on, work-based learning experience. Students spend part of their school day earning credit and wages while they gain valuable industry experience under the guidance of a local business mentor.

School2Work (S2W)
The Oshkosh Area School District's School2Work (S2W) program - in partnership with area manufacturing companies - provides an opportunity for high school seniors to earn their high school diploma while immersed in a paid capstone manufacturing experience.
