CLC Recognizes

 

We would like to recognize the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh and the YMCA of Oshkosh for taking on extra kids on the student’s stay at home days, recruiting and hiring staff, and help train our staff as well.  Thank you for continuing to be valuable community partners with the Oshkosh Area School District!

 

A big thank you to Sarah Thompson, from the UWO Extension 4H program, for providing virtual STEM lessons to our students at Roosevelt Elementary School. The students loved getting to interact with fun STEM lessons and learn more about 4H!

 

I also would like to recognize our outstanding CLC Coordinator’s Team for all of the work they have done to make the beginning of our school year successful. Thank you for being flexible and accommodating with all of the new changes we faced this school year!

Lastly, thank you to our excellent intern at Webster Stanley Middle School, Tejia Champion.  She is an advanced intern through the UWO Human Services Leadership program.  Teija has worked very hard to get to know all of the students, plan family nights, help Megan Last in some of the classrooms during the day, and plan and run lessons. She has quickly become an incredible asset at Webster Middle School, and we look forward to what she has planned next.

Rodney Frazier: Thank you to Rodney’s Cafe for being a part of our CLC Food Truck Night at Perry Tipler Middle School on October 29th, 2020!  Rodney made delicious meals to serve to almost 200 people from our CLC families.  He put a lot of time and work into making all of the food and making our event a smashing success!

 

Zong Vang: Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Eggroll, for catering for our CLC Event!  The eggrolls were terrific, and everybody was so excited that they were included in our event!  Mr. & Mrs. Eggroll made 400 eggrolls for us to serve at Perry Tipler & Webster Stanley Elementary.

 

DD’s BBQ: Thank you for participating in our CLC, district-wide family event at Webster Stanley. The families enjoyed the food, and you helped us relieve some of that food and financial stress for a night that some of our families are going through during these challenging times. We hope to work with you again. 

 

Our CLC Team: For helping make our October Family Event possible with all of the hard work and planning they put into the event to make it possible. Thanks to that effort, our event went smoothly and as perfectly as it could go.

 

We would like to recognize Sarah Thompson, Dr. Renae Swanson, and Teysha Bowser from UW-Extension 4H & the Counselors program. Thank you for continuing your partnerships with the CLC programs and your flexibility during our changing schedules. 

 

Sarah Thompson has been recording mini-lessons for us to post in our Google Classrooms for the students to participate in during their free time.

 

I also want to thank Dr. Renae Swanson and Teysha Bowser for getting some of their UWO graduate students to do individual and small group sessions with our elementary students virtually through Google Meet once a week. 

I want to take the time to thank our amazing CLC staff for continuing our extended learning hours, running family nights, and continuing to find new ways of incorporating new community partners during this pandemic.

I would especially like to thank the Sneezing Cow Inc. group for the virtual family night they did with our Merrill Elementary students!

This month we wanted to take the time to thank two groups for their support of our CLC programming. 

First I want to thank Julie Conrad and Jenell Holstead for their continued support and belief in us to do the great things we've accomplished this year so far. And Lastly, I want to thank our new community partner, N.E.W. Pawsibilities. The kids really enjoyed making blankets and toys for your rescue shelter and I look forward to seeing how our upcoming virtual event goes.
