Course Registration Instructions
If you forgot your login or password, go to the Oshkosh Area School District website and on the main screen click on the Infinite Campus box. Click to sign onto the OASD Parent Portal.
Then click on the orange HELP box and select which item you need help with. If you have forgotten both login and password, please contact Nash Vandermolen at 920.424.0395 x2693 or nash.vandermolen@oshkosh.k12.wi.us for help.
If you do not have access to a computer, you may contact your school secretary between March 5 and April 2 to use a school computer to register for Summer School.
If your child attends a parochial school, please complete the following forms at this link:
Summer School - Online Registration. Once your child has been enrolled, you will receive an email with an activation code for the Parent Portal. You will then need to sign in and create an account in the Parent Portal. Once these steps have been completed, you will be able to register your child for summer school through Infinite Campus Parent Portal after 8:00 a.m. on March 5 until the April 2 deadline. If you have any questions about this process, please call Nash Vandermolen at 920.424.0395 x2693.

Summer School Online Registration
Using the Infinite Campus Parent Portal
Students must attend every session of summer school when a class meets for credit (Session 1: 8 AM -12:30 PM and Session 2: 8 AM - 12:50 PM). DPI (Department of Public Instruction) rules state that students must attend classes for so many hours in order to get credit. This is in addition to earning a passing grade for a class during summer school. If you have any plans or need to have your high school student miss summer school for any reason while it is in session, it may be best not to sign them up.

From the portal Sign In screen, https://oshkoshwi.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/oshkosh.jsp enter the Username and Password that has been assigned.
Summer School Courses can be requested through either the Parent or the Student Portal
Click the Log In button. This will bring the user to the main portal page where district and school notices will be listed.
When Logged in to the parent portal click the 3 line menu to access the menu.
From the dropdown select “More”

If you have more than one student and see the following screen, select the dropdown in the top right corner and select the relevant student.

Elementary Students can select 2 in-person courses and a bus.
The exception will be Getting Ready for Kindergarten and Getting Ready for First Grade course selections where 1 course and a bus can be selected.
If you wish to select backup courses, please select them as alternates. This is advised since not all classes run due to enrollment numbers not met.
Middle School Students can select 2 in-person courses.

Elementary Summer School (students currently in grades 4K-4)
Note: Students register according to the grade they will enter in the fall. Example: a current 1st grader will register for classes open to students entering 2nd grade in the fall.

Exploring the Great Artdoors! | This course is designed as an introductory art course that will provide experiences in clay, digital photography, drawing and painting. We will be exploring a variety of natural plant and animal subjects found in the great outdoors. In three weeks we will become familiar with a variety of artists as well as explore wheel throwing, hand building, burnishing and raku firing, fast and slow shutter speed and digital macro photography, contour drawing, ink and gesture drawing. Confirm you will have daily access to a computer outside of school. Students will be able to keep their Chromebook during summer school. Please be prepared to start on June 09 and work online daily. Final exam will be proctored at North High School on July 17; however, arrangements for earlier final exams to accommodate family vacations may be scheduled in advance. (NOTE: All advanced PE students will be required to attend pre-fitness testing on June 06 at 8:00 AM at the summer school site, Oshkosh North High School. Final fitness testing will take place on July 17 at 8:00 AM.) An online account will be created for you after you receive confirmation of your enrollment in the summer school course. Your online account will provide access to your selected online course. An email containing account/login information will be sent to your school email. CREATIVE WRITING 2 | For many hundreds of years, literature has been one of the most important human art forms. It allows us to give voice to our emotions, create imaginary worlds, express ideas, and escape the confines of material reality. Through creative writing, we can come to understand ourselves and our world a little bit better. This course provides students with a solid grounding in the writing process, from finding inspiration to building a basic story to using complicated literary techniques and creating strange hybrid forms of poetic prose and prose poetry. ADVANCED PE A fitness reward awaits -students experience personal change, both physically and mentally, from the Personal Fitness course journey. The course begins with an assessment of each student's current physical condition. Workout logs enable students to measure individual progress. Realistic goals, set with the guidance of a training instructor, help students reach their personal fitness goals. Students travel through the virtual town of Wellville and learn about exercise, conditioning, managing stress, diet, and nutrition. A fitness program is developed and tailored to each student's needs. By following personalized training principles, students feel energy levels increase and gain confidence from personal success. Engagement in exercise and physical activity according to personal plans leads students toward developing healthy habits that will last a lifetime. The best way to live a healthy life is to prevent health problems before they occur - this course helps students do just that. And the best time to start is right now. CRIMINOLOGY | Criminology In today's society, crime and deviant behavior are often one of the top concerns of society members. From the nightly news to personal experiences with victimization, crime seems to be all around us. In this course, we will explore the field of criminology or the study of crime. In doing so, we will look at possible explanations for crime from psychological, biological, and sociological standpoints, explore the various types of crime and their consequences for society, and investigate how crime and criminals are handled by the criminal justice system. Why do some individuals commit crimes but others don't? What aspects in our culture and society promote crime and deviance? Why do individuals receive different punishments for the same crime? GOTHIC LITERATURE |
Gothic Literature: From vampires to ghosts, these frightening stories have influenced fiction writers since the 18th century. This course will focus on the major themes found in Gothic literature and demonstrate how the core writing drivers produce, for the reader, a thrilling psychological environment. Terror versus horror, the influence of the supernatural, and descriptions of the difference between good and evil are just a few of the themes presented. By the time students have completed this course, they will have gained an understanding of and an appreciation for the complex nature of dark fiction. Prerequisite: None |
FORENSIC SCIENCE |
Forensic Science Fingerprints. Blood spatter. DNA analysis. The world of law enforcement is increasingly making use of the techniques and knowledge from the sciences to better understand the crimes that are committed and to catch those individuals responsible for the crimes. Forensic science applies scientific knowledge to the criminal justice system. This course focuses on some of the techniques and practices used by forensic scientists during a crime scene investigation (CSI). Starting with how clues and data are recorded and preserved, the student will follow evidence trails until the CSI goes to trial, examining how various elements of the crime scene are analyzed and processed. MARINE SCIENCE | Marine Science: As our amazing planet continues to change over time, it becomes increasingly apparent how human activity has made environmental impacts. In the marine science course, students will delve deep into Earth's bodies of water and study geologic structures and how they impact the oceans. Students will investigate characteristics of various populations, patterns of distribution of life in our aquatic systems, and ongoing changes occurring every day in our precious ecosystems. Students will be amazed and enlightened at just how much our oceans and lakes affect climate, weather, and seasonal variations. They will have the opportunity to explore the relationships among living organisms and see how they are affected by our oceans currents, tides, and waves. Hold on, it is one amazing journey. SPORTS OFFICIATING |
Description: In this course, students will learn the rules, gameplay, and guidelines for a variety of sports, including soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, football, and tennis. In addition, they will learn the officiating calls and hand signals for each sport, as well as the role a sports official plays in maintaining fair play.

Classroom Driver Education
Location: Oshkosh West High School (Room G11 enter door #20)
Session 1: June 9 – 27, M-F, 8:00-10:00

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: This is a 30-hour, in-person course! We meet for 15 school days, 2 hours a day. You must attend all days of your session.
Eligibility for temporary license: Students will receive the DMV paperwork (MV3001) to get their temporary license upon satisfactory completion of the course, full payment of classroom and behind the wheel fees ($425.00), and be at least 15 years of age.

The majority of students who will get a spot in our summer behind the wheel program completed the classroom session during the spring semester. WEST CATS HS |
The High School C.A.T.S. - Course is for any student living in the Oshkosh School District and entering into 9th – 12th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. Middle and High School C.A.T.S. will teach safe training techniques students can utilize to become more fit and improve their physical abilities in strength, agility, and speed. The class will meet five days per week (Mon-Fri) for 90 minutes.

SPARTAN STRENGTH |
The High School Spartan Strength - SESSION 1 course is for any student living in the Oshkosh School District and entering into 9th-12th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a strength and conditioning course that has been designed for high school students by Certified Strength and Conditioning teachers/coaches. The class will put emphasis on proper weightlifting techniques, safety when it comes to working out with exercise equipment, healthy lifestyle choices, and speed and agility drills. Students completing this course will be in excellent shape/condition and will maximize their physical potential. The class will meet four days per week (Mon-Thur.) for 120 minutes.

ADAPTED SPORT LEAGUE |
The Adapted Sports League Summer Camp will develop physical fitness skills throughout 3 different sports such as indoor soccer, indoor floor hockey, and indoor wiffle ball. It is a requirement that the student has a disability recognized by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to participate within the camp; students grades 9-12 who are unable to successfully compete with their non-disabled peers. There will be two certified adapted physical education teachers and two support staff members to ensure the student will remain in a safe and successful environment. Prior to working with athletes, all staff members will be CPR, AED, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certified per district requirements. This camp is a lead up to our Adapted Sports League that will take place in the Fall as a school-sponsored extracurricular sports program and athletes will need to complete all three seasons to receive a varsity letter, per league requirements. Each sport will be roughly 6 weeks in Fall - soccer, Winter - floor hockey, and Spring - wiffle ball. |

Jazz Ensemble students study and perform music of the jazz idiom, including improvisation, jazz rock, blues, swing, Latin, etc. This course will serve as an introduction to the rich history of jazz music. Through ensemble rehearsal, individual practice, small group sectionals, and performance opportunities, the students will gain an understanding and appreciation for this great art form. Bus Information- Summer School 2025
If you want your Student to be bussed from one of the pickup and drop off locations located on the course page for each school, you must sign up for busing during the online registration process. Busing services fill up quickly. Busing is only available for students entering grades K-8. Bussing cannot be added once registration closes.
For students who ride the bus (Entering grades K-8):
- Students will arrive at the summer school site in time for free breakfast at Jefferson, Oaklawn, Menominee, and Vel Phillips. Breakfast is not served at Traeger Elem.
- Buses will load after the lunch period. Students may choose to eat school lunch, bring their own lunch, or sit quietly until the buses arrive.
- Bus pickup/drop-off times will be sent along with course information

GET OUT AND PLAY 4-5 | For students entering grades 4 - 5. Get out and play offers children opportunities to learn games and activities to be used at home around the neighborhood or at the park. HOGWARTS ACADEMY 4-5 | Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, this class is for you! For students entering grades 4-5 and have read any of the Harry Potter books or seen any of the movies. We will immerse ourselves in the magical world of Hogwarts. Students will get sorted and participate in some of the classes that students at Hogwarts take their first and second year. We will look closely at the characters from the books as we read from the series. Among the many activities we will participate in are playing Quidditch, doing craft projects such as making wands, participating in competitions in the Tri Wizard Tournament, and learning the elements of creative writing. |
LEGO CLUB 1-3 | In this hands-on, engaging class, students will explore the world of LEGO building through a variety of fun and challenging activities. Students will have the opportunity to design, construct, and collaborate on projects that foster creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. From brainstorming and prototyping to creating a business plan and marketing your idea, this course will guide you through the exciting process of becoming a STEMpreneur! At the end of the course, students will present their ideas during a “STEM Fair,” where they can pitch their businesses to peers, teachers, and community members. Students who wish to take their ideas further will be encouraged to enter their project into Junior Achievers’ Young Entrepreneur Contest, held once a year, where young innovators from across the region compete to showcase their businesses and ideas.
