Technology Services

Welcome to the Oshkosh Area School District Technology Services Department

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Oshkosh Area School District Technology Services Department. In Oshkosh, we pride ourselves on providing a learning environment where technology is available to all staff and students.

We have created this website to assist you in gathering valuable information about our district operations. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions I encourage you to contact me. I would be happy to discuss our plan for enhancing education and district operations through technology with you.

Using OASD Wi-Fi

The Oshkosh Area School District is pleased to provide filtered wireless access to Internet resources.  The District recognizes that these resources are available through public funding and, as such, every effort is made to allow public access to the OASD network where possible and where such access does not negatively impact the operations of the District.

The Oshkosh Area School District makes no warranties of any kind, whether expressed or implied, for the service it is providing. The District does not warrant that the functions of the system will meet any specific requirements the user may have, or that it will be error-free, or that its operation will not be interrupted. The District will not be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost data, information, or use time) sustained or incurred in connection with the use, operation, or inability to use OASD resources. The District specifically denies any responsibility for the accuracy or quality of information obtained through its services.

Users have no expectations of privacy in any of the data that they may access using the OASD network.  Usage of the network may be monitored without notice to determine compliance with this policy and overall network health.  Transmission of any material in violation of any national, state, or district regulation or policy is prohibited.  This includes, but is not limited to, copyrighted, harassing, threatening, or obscene material.

For detailed information on the district Acceptable Use Policies please visit the OASD Board Policy Webpage.

The guest account is restricted in terms of access granted between the hours of 4am and 4pm on weekdays.  There is no guest access available between the hours of 10pm and 4am.

Internet Discount Finder

The Oshkosh Area School Districts uses the Brightbytes assessment to provide data on how well we are utilizing technology for instruction.  This survey of students and staff provides data on how many students have broadband access to the internet in their homes.  According to this assessment,  nearly 95% of our students have broadband access in their homes.  We realize that this limits the ability of a student to fully participate in the learning process and, as such, are always looking for ways to help families obtain high speed internet access at home.

Internet providers offer an array of discounted internet subscriptions based upon a variety of factors such as income, participation in Free and Reduced Cost Lunch programs, housing assistance, veteran status, Medicaid, Supplementary Security Income and more.   Internet services could be as low as $5 to $10 per month.  We encourage families to use the Internet Discount Finder to see about low cost internet for their home.

OASD Request For Proposal (RFP) Process

The Oshkosh Area School District uses a Request For Proposal (RFP) process when purchasing goods and services.  Any vendor who wishes to be on the OASD list for RFP submission should fill out the attached Vendor List Submission Form.

Any technology related RFP's can be found here.  Currently there are no RFP's being solicited.
