Oshkosh Schools Summit

Your Voice. Our Future.

A 3-day community event to shape the future of our public schools.

From April 28 through May 2, 2026, Menominee Elementary School transformed into a hub of community vision and collaboration. The first-ever Oshkosh Schools Summit brought together over 160 dedicated community members - including parents, business leaders, neighbors, students, and staff - for a nearly eleven-hour "Community Conversation" spread over three days.

This Summit was not a single event, but the beginning of a larger effort to keep the conversation going. We are committed to ensuring our community stays informed and engaged as we move from vision to action.

Community Survey Results

Following the 3-day Summit, the OASD conducted a community-wide survey to share and build upon the foundational work done by our participants.

The 18 core themes in the survey were created by the dedicated community members who invested their time in the Summit. Because their work was so vital, we wanted to honor their effort by bringing it to the wider public. The goal of the survey was to give the broader community a chance to see what the Summit produced, help prioritize those exact themes, and ensure nothing was missed.

Thank you to our Summit participants for setting the direction, and to everyone who took the time to respond. This collective feedback is directly shaping our next steps and the development of our district strategic framework.

Next Steps
The survey results were shared at the June 10 Board of Education meeting to help inform their strategic framework planning process. This planning will continue throughout the summer months. The OASD will continue to provide updates as this work advances.

2026 Oshkosh Schools Summit Recap

What’s Next? Turning Vision into Action

The work of the Summit is the foundation of our 5-Year District Strategic Framework. Here is how we are moving forward:

  • May 13, 2026: The School Board will hold its first formal discussion on the ranked topics/themes identified at the Summit.
  • Week of May 18: We will synthesize all feedback and launch a community-wide survey to provide an opportunity for additional input to be shared.
  • May-June: Continued discussions and development of district Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • July–August: System alignment and team planning.
  • August–September: Final Strategic Framework communicated to OASD staff and community.
